i guess it's pretty cool to be good friends with a guy who is already attached, because knowing that i will definitely never be a third party, we can hang out and talk till late at night without the ambiguity of does-he-like-me and do-i-like-him sort of things that can sometimes ruin a friendship, unless that friendship is already damn platonic with both parties knowing there is definitely no chances of a romance blossoming.

so bai and i are pretty close now as a result of that whole episode involving his good friend and my good friend; which propelled our acquaintanceship to friendship because i sought him out for some advice. he is happily attached, and we can talk about pretty much anything. hell, we even talked about threesomes (albeit just a casual one-off remark).

but it just got me thinking, what's the limit of a platonic friendship, and how platonic can a friendship between the two genders get?

should alarms be ringing in my head if he is treating me more like a friend either by his words or actions? maybe some guys are just more flirtatious by nature, and maybe i'm just over-sensitive; but what if he says he quarrelled with his girlfriend and i'm one of the things they were quarrelling about?

i'm very sure, though, that he exaggerated that part, just to gain some sympathy from me.

i have definitely no objections to providing a listening ear to a friend when he's feeling down over his relationship, but it is another thing to feel as if i'm just another girl for him to get some sort of affection from.

usually in such situations, i would start keeping some distance already; but because he did provide some invaluable help and support during that period, i can not bring myself to do so.

anyhow, results are out! i didn't get too impressive grades but seeing that it's my first sem and i barely touched most of the textbooks till only a couple of days before the exams itself, and that had to happen during the exam period; i'm pretty darn glad with my straight Bs (:

just returned hall from holland v (my very first time there!) with kah yan and the hall seniors, had a drink at harry's bar 'cos wala wala was too crowded. there was this live band at harry's bar, which consisted of two guys both named derek; and the derek who sings is quite cute. heh. holland v's quite a nice place to chill out at, will definitely return there some time!

meanwhile, have yourself an enjoyable weekend counting down to the new year. oh, but keep the alcohol intake down, ya.

i hope i take my own advice. loves! (:
