it's funny but as of late, i've been meeting and catching up with quite a few old friends. it's funny in the it's-totally-unexpected-but-totally-pleasant way, and it's really nice and heartwarming to find that after all these months or even years of no-contact or absense, we still make an effort to continue at being friends.
it's true what they say, it gets harder to establish really good friendships as you get older. i'm glad for the friends i've made in uni so far, but it can get really tough sometimes. uni life is preparation for the real world, so you can imagine how competitive people can get and the walls they build up. or maybe it's just me not making an effort to really go out and know new people, preferring to remain in my comfort zone, i don't know.
i think it's still easier to rekindle old friendships than make new friends and start from square one? at least the basics are already there, somehow.
finally visited andrew tham at the hospital last thursday. thank God his situation is more or less stabilised, but he still has not woken up. to all who know him, and even if you don't, do pray for his speedy and complete recovery, and that he'll wake up soon!
it was like a mini-St Hildans' gathering outside the ICU ward on thursday, and it's really heartwarming that although alot of us were not that close to andrew, we still made an effort to drop by for a visit. and it was there that i got back into contact with a few schoolmates too, so that's good!
benjamin is back in singapore for his holidays, and had tickets for the ndp rehearsal at the waterfront yesterday. it was really nice of him to actually ask us out, i was kind of pleasantly surprised (:
t'was my first time attending an ndp rehearsal or parade at all, the only other time was when i was P5, and plus it was the first time the ndp was held at the waterfront, so benjamin, many thanks!

oh, zoe tay, pan lingling and her husband with their kids were there too, sitting just two rows behind us. and i must say, they look really good real life as they do reel life!

i know you probably can't see shit in this picture, but i gotta say, it's one of the prettiest scenes from the rehearsal; you know those flying whatchamacalits you can see at clarke quay with the lights and operated from a control, they were flying around so prettily in the night above the water, like robot dragonflies doing their mating dance above the lake. really pretty.

ended the day with dinner and chat at thai express!
thanks to ben once again, for this treat of sorts. and it was great catching up! (:
