note, of course that i may be entirely wrong, and my hypothesis is also subject to change when the next episode comes around ;)
my take is that there should most probably be more than one killer - either two working together or separately - one main killer and another killing one or two for his/her own personal grudges.
my take is that Abby Mills is really the killer - i thought of that before it was revealed that she may be Wakefield's daughter; and even after that although it may seem unlikely - but i'm guessing she has a split personality. (i know, quite cliche but let me explain)... ;)
perhaps from young she already gets hints from Daddy Sheriff that she is not his biological daughter. or even if she is indeed his real daughter, maybe he doesn't show too much love cos perhaps he doesn't know what his wife has done with Wakefield. so after seeing her mother hung dead on a tree Abby develops post traumatic stress but tries hard to repress the memory and all her feelings of fear/hatred/grudge, especially since the Sheriff sent her away. now that she's back on the island, all the old repressed feelings come rushing back and she morphs into this monster she doesn't even know exist inside of her.
that's when the exciting part will happen, that at the end of it all there will be this big, emotional, dramatic showdown between her and the Sheriff; that all along the killer he wants to catch is his daughter (whether biological or not).
speaking of which, i doubt Sheriff Mills is the killer - he probably is just a red herring. when Madison says the Sheriff was the one who took her to that room, she may be lying, knowing how creepy and weird she can be. (and how come NO ONE asked her who did that to her when they found her ??)
another red herring is probably Wakefield himself, i really think he's dead and not alive anymore and definitely NOT going around the island continuing his killing spree.
another suspect i have is probably Cal Vandeusen, the blonde hair British with that hot girlfriend. remember he was the one who stopped the rest from leaving on a boat and he is a doctor, right? so he would most likely know how to kill ie. which body part to inflict fatal blows upon. also, he seems like quite the outsider and nerd, constantly being bullied and laughed at; perhaps that worked up his deep evil menace and so the killing sprees.
there is also talk online that Wakefield's child may not necessarily be Abby and may not even be a girl - so Cal may be his son too! (but that opens up a whole plethora of possibilites, maybe it's Henry, maybe it's Jimmy ?? though i refuse to think it's either of them...they're both too cute and nice! but i know it's often the people you least suspect hmmm)
another possibility is that one of the deceased may really be staging his/her own death and is actually the real killer behind it all. since he/she is supposedly dead, no one would suspect him/her now, right? but that's really pushing it for me... haha.
i can't wait to see how it all plays out and when the big reveal is made. it had better be a satisfying ending with everything explained and the killer better not be some minor character whom we hardly noticed! that would really kill the show for me (no pun intended)... ;)
