it surely is surreal seeing my kid sister in university with me... a stark reminder that i. am. old. how she is integrating into hall life a fresh-faced undergrad doing all the socializing in hall that is now rather vague to me... (i think the older i get, the more i withdraw into my comfort zone, because it is literally comfortable) and she is in hall pageant! the love. little sister is definitely growing up. and i will definitely go and support her in the pageant if time and money allows (the ticket at 55$ is super ex to the perpetually broke me!)... :( i am definitely glad that she's settling down really fine in hall and making so many new friends, at least she won't regret switching to hall 4 with my help ;)

first week of school has been... again, surreal (pardon for the lack of vocab here, but). seeing my batch of comm studies peers sitting together at a lecture, recognizable by the cliques they are in, is definitely refreshing and nice in a fuzzy way. i guess somehow there is this sense of camaraderie between us comm studies undergrads; i remember earlier this year on internship i bumped into a coursemate at the mrt station whom i have probably not spoken much to in the 2 and 1/2 years in school; but at the mrt station we asked each other about our internships and stuff. definitely heartwarming and i bet that's how it's gonna be like after graduation, too.

so after visiting the sister's hall room on thurs evening, jon and i headed to aunty sharon's (who lives just right outside ntu) for dinner, and oh what a fine dinner it was! shepherd's pie and crisp salad with green tea mixed with choya (which sadly i didn't know how to appreciate so i just drank green tea) and juicy mango and chocolate for dessert after. had quite a nice time talking over dinner with aunty sharon, her husband uncle richard and their son elisha; most of the time i was listening though, but it was definitely interesting to listen and learn.

yesterday it was UP at iluma with jon, which I LOVE, ABSOLUTELY. UP is so, so good in all its bright, vibrant colors and really touching as well, i actually teared at a few scenes. it is of course, also super funny and the boy is so cute can. i don't usually like to watch such CGI animated films, preferring my good ol' Disney movies, but i actually feel like watching UP a second time. oh and there's this animated Disney movie coming up, The Princess and the Frog and i am so going to make sure i watch it too, if only to relive my childhood days:)

supper at geylang's 126 after that, and we bumped into hansel, junfeng and jielie who were at hall 9's 9-5. it was my first time at 126 and i absolutely love the dimsum!! i usually go to lorong 8 for the dimsum but now i'm totally a 126 convert.

speaking of which, after supper we were walking to the bus stop and we passed this LAN shop; and i thought of L4D so we stopped outside the LAN shop for awhile. but when i looked in there was this guy OPENLY VIEWING PORN. i was utterly disgusted can !! isn't there supposed to be a law against such things?! i mean do it if you must at home in the PRIVACY of your own home but at a LAN shop ?!?! damn gross can. we hurried away to the bus-stop, no way am i gonna play L4D on a seat which might have unknown and unidentified stains on it. eewwww.

so let me be
a wild flower

its death shall be
the fading of beauty
