(image from deviantart)

splashes of red, blue and grey fill my vision as the green man blinked. i took one gulp of the saccharine sweetness, feet on gravel, sunlight dancing on my skin and wind-tousled hair, listening to the panics on repeat. the ten minutes walk home is always short but sweet. like a form of catharsis, with every step i take one ill feeling is purged out of me. a little boy of six tries to ride a bicycle, a cat fatter than any cat i have ever seen laze on the ground its green eyes looking eagerly at me as i approached then looked away with nonchalance when it realises i have nothing to offer. spotting a taxi-driver stopping his taxi on the side of the expressway to take a leak at the drain nearby. little malay boys kicking ball on a makeshift court. the anticipation of finally reaching home and getting a well-deserved rest. missing a photo-worthy moment and missing it forever.

... a wild flower dies
where it blooms

so let me be
a wild flower

its death shall be
the fading of beauty
