it has been more than two weeks since australia, and i am still missing it so much! i miss the weather, the winter clothes (you can wrap yourself up like bazhang and still look good), the scenery, the people and most of all the unhurried, laid-back lifestyle that you can never, ever get in singapore.

we spent about 6 days in melbourne first at habitatHQ, which was ranked the 3rd best hostel in australia and it sure lived up to its name.

some highlights from the melbourne leg of the trip (days 1 - 3) -

a random cat we saw along the way; i loved how the cat's black silhouette nicely contrasted with the white wall.

the guys at some beach at melbourne (i forgot its name, if it had any).

we made friends with two guys from habitatHQ - jacob from the uk and nicolai from france. they were pretty nice guys and coincidentally we bumped into nicolai at sydney again staying in our hostel.

grafitti is a norm in australia, but rather nicely done i say.

in our rented car for 8pax for 2 days. but woe is us, on the day of our returning of the car, scratches & damages amount to 400 aussie $ = 50 aussie $ for each of us. SIGH. hopefully our insurance can cover the amount.

let's talk over coffee and eat too much chocolate. turn off the phone and listen to our laughter. there are never enough of these moments.

along the very long road to twelve apostles, we took a break.

and met this very nice lady who regaled us with interesting stories of the twelve apostles and about herself and her hubby (they have a house nearby and were relaxing on a bench that day before the group of us intruded their space; his head on her lap. ah the life!)

twelve apostles! which, i have been told, has become the six apostles as they have been subject to strong wind and waves over the years....

red rooster for dinner. their fast food is super salty can. so unhealthy!

our living quarters at habitatHQ. ok i know my picture doesn't do justice - it's much better than it looks!

jon & his happy three friends having a gay time (they are always doing that in australia).

the other guys join in the fun.

played gullotine and saboteur to pass time at night since shops are mostly closed early in australia, and most of us are not the pubbing/clubbing kind.

so let me be
a wild flower

its death shall be
the fading of beauty
